Avalanche Safety Camp 06.01.18

 In Events, Freeride and Touring

Ideal conditions for a Avalanche Safety Camp. The current avalanche conditions are particularly high due to rain and strong wind. For tours below 2500m there are very harsh conditions. Thus, the small tour was transformed into a short ascent, combined with the analysis of a snow profile.

After all participants have arrived and received the material, we started our course at 10 a. m. at Lake Seeblisee, or more precisely the handling of the Barryfox, probe and shovel.

After the theory we started to play through various scenarios. Everyone found the possibility to search, probe and shovel. Even under stress and time pressure. This should also be practiced.

At 13 o’ clock we enjoyed a lunch in the mountain house. Afterwards we went up to the little stars to stick our nose in the snow with a snow profile (ECT).
